The Icehouse Architect (Part 1: The body can hold what we need to rebuild) tells a story of an individual who has discovered a new method of re-building after the permafrost, the hummocks, the sea ice, and the glaciers have melted. It is Subtraction-Method: rather than creating something new to build with, the building happens when she takes something away. She travels the earth collecting the heat in her body, and as she does so, the ice formations begin to rebuild.

Two discoed visitors travel to Grande Staircase-Escalente, a protected land monument in southern Utah, just before it was set to be considerably downsized by the Trump administration. They have come to have one last dance, before the metaphorical lights go on and the magic of this wild space is gone.
As they explore land formations through their bodies, their movements refract onto the landscape and the landscape is reflected onto their bodies. Their costumes become prosthetic connection devices between human and place.
Audio track was created from sounds collected on-site.
This piece was made in response to Trump's Monument Review which threatened the protected land status of 27 national land monuments.

Through stop-motion animation, live footage and text, the wild of the Yukon is personified as an older, wiser lover, coaxing viewers to come live in her extremes, let go of things they thought they once needed, and find the part of themselves that the noise and structures and expectations of the cities have obstructed, hidden and tamed.
The video's narrative brings together common experiences of both those who have been long-time Yukon residents and those who are experiencing the North for the first time.
Take the Wild is the first in a three-part love story with the Yukon.

Dear Human is the second video in a three-part love story with the Yukon.
This piece is a selection from the work I completed during an artist residency at the Centre for Art Tapes. It was exhibited at Nocturne: Art at Night, a Halifax city-wide arts festival, where it was formatted to t in a small in-set street level window of a queer bar/ community space viewable to those on the sidewalk, passing by. It is a reaction to project research I’d done with Christian communities while living in Central NY. After pushing personal politics aside in efforts to connect with, and find commonalities in communities that were not my own, the personal politics pushed back in the form of a new language I’d learned: a prayer.
